Schimbul de tineret E-POSS – Letonia

Proiectul E-POSS, desfășurat în Liepāja, Letonia, a fost primul meu proiect de schimb intercultural și pot spune că nu am fost dezamăgită. Așteptările mele au fost atinse din majoritatea punctelor de vedere.

„Ghizii” noștri, letonii, au fost extrem de amabili și dornici să ne ajute. Pentru orice fel de problemă, erau mereu gata să ne dea o mână de ajutor. Ne-au arătat împrejurimile și ne-au povestit despre cultura lor pe care am descoperit-o și mai bine la seara interculturală.

Seara interculturală ne-a dat acces la mai multe informații despre tradițiile și obiceiurile din Letonia, Italia și Portugalia. Personal, cel mai mult mi-a plăcut prezentarea portughezilor, pentru că și-au descris țara într-un mod deosebit și ne-au arătat imagini cu locuri pe care le putem vizita din Portugalia care m-au făcut să îmi doresc să ajung și acolo. Cu toate că portughezii, în opinia mea, au avut cea mai bună prezentare, jocurile tradiționale ale italienilor au fost cele mai amuzante, iar mâncarea letonilor cea mai bună.

Atelierele de teatru, păpuși, muzică și video s-au desfășurat sub îndrumarea unor mentori cu experiență în domeniu care ne-au ajutat să ne dezvoltăm anumite aptitudini și să lucrăm ca o echipă. Membrii atelierelor au comunicat între ei pentru a pune cap la cap spectacolul final.

Pentru mine a fost foarte important programul de sport pe care l-am avut în fiecare dimineață, deoarece, în viața mea de zi cu zi, timpul nu îmi permite să mă ocup și de educația fizică, iar programul acestei săptămâni m-a ajutat să revin măcar puțin în formă, atât fizic, cât și psihic.

Cu toate că Liepāja nu este tocmai un oraș deosebit, atmosfera este liniștitoare și poate că, uneori, o pauză de la un mediu aglomerat e tot ce ne trebuie.

În ultima zi a avut loc prezentarea muncii noastre de o săptămână și am fost plăcut surprinsă să văd cât de bine a ieșit și cât de frumos și atent a lucrat toată lumea.

Despărțirea a fost una tristă, dar mă bucur că am putut să iau cu mine înapoi părerile și urările celorlalți pe hârtie. Eu văd această experiență ca pe una utilă, întrucât m-a scos puțin din rutina mea zilnică și m-a ajutat să îmi descopăr noi abilități.

The E-POSS project that took place in Liepāja, Latvia was my first intercultural exchange and I can honestly say that I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was almost like I had expected it to be.

Our „guardians”, the Latvians, were extremely kind and they were always willing to help us. For any kind of problem that we could’ve had, they were there for us. They took us on a tour of their city and they told us a lot about their culture, but we discovered even more things about them during the intercultural evening.

The intercultural evening gave us some new information about traditions from Latvia, Italy and Portugal. My favourite presentation was the one made by the Portuguese, because they described their country in such a beautiful way and they showed us some great pictures of some places that I really want to visit now. Even though I enjoyed the presentation of Portugal, the Italian games were the funniest and the best food was the Latvians’.

As for our workshops, the art workshop, the music workshop and the video workshop, we had some great mentors with experience in the field. They helped us develop some new skills and they taught us how to work as a team. We worked together to make the final show a success.

What I really found important was each morning’s sport routine, because in my daily life I don’t have time for sports, and the fact that, during the week we stayed in Liepaja, I worked out (as I could) and improved my health a little bit.

Although Liepāja is not the most beautiful city, it is a peaceful one and maybe sometimes all you need is a break from a lousy environment.

We had our presentation on the last day and I was pleasantly surprised to see how great our project turned out to be.

The leaving part was hard. I was sad to leave because I met so many nice people but I am glad I got to keep some of their thoughts and wishes on paper. I see this experience as a useful one and I’m happy I participated in this project because I got the chance to get out of my routine for a bit and I learned some new things about myself too.
